It’s over…….the year 2016, that is.
Could this year have gone any faster?! So much has changed throughout the world. Good and bad. Many have persevered while others allowed their troubles to control their lives and the outcome of their actions.
And with the end of one year, comes the start to another! 2017. Maybe having the #7 in the year will bring us luck? Too superstitious? I THINK NOT!!!
But, before one really soaks in the new year, it’s always fun to take a moment and reminisce all the good experiences and events that occurred for you during the year of 2016. Just as I am about to do now….
This past year, I have overcome many obstacles. Some that I would do again any day, and others that challenged me to the brink of a breakdown. But I managed to rise above it all due to the enormous amount of support from my friends/family and a goal of proving to myself that I can do it.
I graduated from undergrad, earned a position under YouTube’s top Science & Educational Network, began my master’s, and we moved into our first house. New friendships were made, and some old ones were lost. The awesome ones are still there 😉 One of my largest flaws that I’ve overcome is anxiety. I’ve had it for quite some time and never really acted on a way to help reduce it. I can stress myself to the point of sickness and even then, I will stress about being sick. Then the anxiety kicks in and trouble sleeping grows.
During mid-year, I took my first step to overcoming this negativity I was allowing into my everyday life. I eliminated the one thing that was weighing me down. By doing this, I was able to freakin’ breathe and enjoy life.
Who knows what 2017 has in store for humanity. Which is why it’s so important to just embrace the positives in your life NOW and use that to fuel your drive to success.
